The annual study, established in 1993, uniquely evaluates nearly 3,000 U.S. hospitals on measures of overall organization performance, including patient care, operatioitals only against similar facilities in terms of size and teaching status. Award winners demonstrate how to achieve high-quality patient outcomes while also improving efficiency.
